Verbs
Like English, there are various conjugations of verbs to express past, present and future. Gerund forms of verbs (-ing ending) does not exist in Russian- the present tense is used.
There are two conjugations of verbs. The first is for verbs that have а, я, e, ова,ну before the verb ends in -ть. The second is for verbs that have è before the verb ends in -ть.

First Conjugation
Я работаю (Ya rabootau) => I work
Ты работаешь (Tee Rabootaesh) => You work
Он, Она, Оно работает (On, ona, ono rabootaet) => He, She, It works.
Мы работаем (Mee Rabootaem) => We work
Вы работаете (Vee rabootaete) => You work.
Они работают (Onee Rabootauyt) => They work.
Second Conjugation
говорить ( Goovoreet) => To speak. (infinitive)
Я говорю ( Ya govoru) => I speak.
Ты говоришь ( Tee govoreesh) => You speak.
Он, Она, Оно говорит ( Oon, Ona, Ono govoreet) => He, She, It Speaks.
Мы говорим ( Mee govoreem) => We speak.
Вы говорите ( Vee govoreete) => You speak.
Они говорят ( Onee govoryat) => They speak.
читать (to read -1st conj.) => Ты читаeшь, Он читаeт, Мы читаeм, Вы читаeтe, Они читayr верить (to believe -2nd conj.) => Ты веришь, Он верит, Мы верим, Вы веритe, Они вериyr
Past tense verbs end with л: читать => читал верить => верил
Verbs also change past tense for singular feminine, neutral, and plural (all genders) by having a suffix placed after the л:
