Russian Grammar: Sentences | Verbs | Nouns | Adjectives | Prepositions | Adverbs

English does not have a case system so you'll see the same word used as an adjective, a preposition, or as an adverb. Even so, adverbs can be created from adjectives in Russian. If the adjective ends with ский then you change it to ски, and precede the word with no-. If it doesn't end with ский then change the adjective ending to -o. For example:

new => новый
newly => новee

Russian => русский
Russianly (in a Russian way) => no-русски

quick => быстрый
quickly => быстро

sad => грустный
sadly => грустно

Russian also has adverbs for place and direction. Here are some examples:
home (place) => дома
home (direction or where one is going) => домой

here (place) => здесь (тут)
here (direction or where one is going) => сюда

there (place) => там
there (direction or where one is going) => туда

where (place) => где
where (direction or where one is going) => куда

nearby (place) => близко
nearby (direction or where one is going) => рядом

Adverbs for Time:
already, for a long time => давно (davno)
early => рано (rauno)
finally, in the end => наконец (nakonez)
immediately => сразу (srazoo)
in the beginning => сначала (snachalo)
late => поздно (pozdno)
long => долго (dolgo)
now => сейчас (seichas)
now => теперь (teper)
one day, once => однажды (odnajdee)
soon => скоро (skoro)
suddenly => вдруг (vdroog)
then, after that => потом (pootom)
