Plural Nouns
There are three groups of nouns in Italian. The first is masculine, the second  is feminine, and the third can be of either gender. The plurals are made by dropping the final vowel and replacing it as follows:
1st group (masculine): libro = book, libri = books
2nd group (feminine): casa= house, case= houses
3rd group (m or f): insegnante= teacher, insegnanti= teachers
